As I have mentioned in the previous post, Baby D is potty training, kind of. So I thought that I would share a little story with you. Yesterday evening, Baby D, SMS and I took a stroll over to Overland Park. I was in dire need of some new cosmetics (love me some Bobby Brown) and Baby D really wanted to ride the Choooo-Chooo in Independence Center Mall. So we loaded up and headed west. Now Baby D has apparently realized that this whole potty training thing really gets my attention. If he says he has to go, I drop whatever I am doing and bolt over to assist him. Hence, he can get lots of attention, when he blurts out "potty or poopy". With that in mind, we were nearing the end of our journey, and Baby D was beginning to get restless (it is about a 1.5 hour drive to OP). He was really wanting to escape from the confinements of his car seat, doing everything in his power to look extremely uncomfortable. Then all of a sudden he settled down and seemed to be perfectly content, so SMS and I began to continue our leisurely conversion. It happened! Baby D took it upon himself to come up with a brilliant plan of action, he recalled the one thing that makes everyone jump to his aid. "Poopy!" "Poopy!". That is all it took, I began looking for the nearest exit, SMS began chatting with him words of encouragement, and Baby D arched his back looking disturbingly uncomfortable. I raced to stop at the gas station, grabbed him out of the car seat and lad him in the back of the SUV. SMS throw me a diaper (long trips he still has the diaper on, lack of trust on my behalf) with plenty of wipes, and I cautiously opened up the diaper. And I was left standing there in bewilderment, an empty diaper and a 20 month old laughing at his mother hysterically! He had pulled one over us! Cleaver little fella.
Sincerely,
Farming Fabulously
