Chicken Club Pizza

Here at the farmstead we are pizza fanatics! I whipped up this appetizing little entree last weekend, and could have devoured it all by myself. But since we did have guests over, I thought that it would be unflattering to do so. Thus I did what any respectable farm wife would do, I shared half of it. The picture is really quite deceiving, this dish is loaded with complex flavors that are buried throughout. I would recommend bringing this to any of your next far weather outings as a sensational little munchy.

Chicken Club Pizza

1 8oz Package Cream Cheese softened
1/4 cup Ranch Dressing

Beat together at medium speed with mixer (or just use a fork) until well combined.

1 Prebaked Pizza Crust

Place cream cheese mixture right on top of pizza.

1 cup shredded rotisserie chicken
6 slices cooked and crumbled bacon
1 avocado sliced into wedges (diced)
1 cup chopped tomato's
2/3 cup shredded lettuce

Layer on all of the ingredients in that order. Feel free to add more of your fancy. I loaded up on avocado's. Bake for 10 minutes at 375 degrees.

This recipe derived from this cooking magazine.

Big Fat Bacon Slidders My Friends.....

Good Golly Miss Molly, This Are Incredible! I fell in love with the whole concept of these burgers, as soon as I seen them. The fact that you wrap a piece of bacon around a hamburger, instead of just placing a full cooked piece of bacon on top is nothing short of sheer brilliance. The presentation is outstanding, you place a strip of bacon in the middle of the burger and the wrap it around forming a cross formation in the center (click on the recipe link below, it will go into more detail on the whole "bacon wrapping process"). Once you have the basic principles down on this burger, you can really let your imagination go mad.

Now I happened to adore the original recipe quite well, the tangy of the BBQ sauce made a great marriage with the salty, earthy flavors of the Parmesan.

But if you were wanting, say a slight twist on tradition. You instead of the BBQ, use ketchup, and instead of Parm, use sharp cheddar.

Or keep the BBQ and pair it with cheddar.

Or perhaps you prefer HH's "heartburn method", A1 and shaved Pepper Jack cheese. It is actually really good, just beware of the repercussions to follow.

Basically use the basic fundamentals of this bacon burger, then you can sass it up however you like.

Hot Bacon Cheese Spread

One of the most versatile appetizers you could have for game day is anything stuffed inside a carb-packed bread bowl. I choose a Hot Bacon Cheese Spread, with the logic that you really can not wrong with cheese (Hello Wisconsin) and bacon. This app was a delightfully rich dip that accompanied the assortment of vegetables wonderfully. I put together all of the ingredients the day before, then prior to game time, filled the bread bowl with the cheese spread and placed it in the oven till warm. A comforting dip for any ones taste buds.

Bacon Wrapped Bratwursts....

Did I mention that the astonishing Green Bay Packers made the Super Bowl this year? And have I ever expressed my undying lust for the mighty green and gold to you lovely readers? Well, I am here to proudly devote my endless passion for this team by showing you some authentic Northern cuisine that was featured at our Packer Playoff Party. Now Bratwursts are an essential for us "Yankee Folk", but instead of having the traditional Bun & Brat with all of the fixings. I opted for an easier finger food, Bacon Wrapped Bit sized Bratwursts. After all, you really can not go wrong with pork on pork! It was a great way to incorporate a real "Cheese Head" favorite. And would be an excellent appetizer to serve at your XLIV Super Bowl party cheering on your favorite team.

P.W.'s Potato Skins, Bring On The Bacon!

A few weeks ago, we were invited to attend a social gathering amongst fellow MIZ......ZOU fans. Unfortunately we had something come up so we had to decline our invitations (*please excuse my awful, inappropriate language* DARN, DRAT, THAT STINKS, ect). However, I had already began preparing some dainty appetizers, for the festive shin-dig. Having choose Ree's pot skins, I was able to prep almost everything the morning of the big game. While still allowing myself ample time to dolp my sour cream and slice my scallions as proper garnish at the end. I used fingerling potatoes as I thought it would be easier to consume, while holding a cold beverage.

Spinach Bacon Tartlets...

Yeah, I have temporarily figured out the issue of my picture posting problem. I guess, this situation has been a reoccurring problem from the past so it is currently being address. Thank you Blogging Gods.
Do these tartlets look amazing or what? I absolutely love the frozen mini phyllo tart shells, they just recently started carrying them at our local grocery and I am so excited. The tart shells are extremely versatile and can be glammed up for almost any occasion. The light airy "cups" (for lack of a better word) are magnificently paired with a spinach, bacon, and cheese mixture. Would be perfect to take to any dinner party or even a holiday festival gathering. I plan on making a holiday sweet treat with them real soon (maybe for GATKAD Day).

Sky-High Brunch Bake

Breakfast this truly the most important meal of the day. Or at least that is what I have always heard? So to jump start your day, you may consider trying this homey make-ahead bake. It is loaded with wonderful antioxidants from the spinach and for the red peppers that are high in vitamin C and E. Alas, we have to get down with our wicked selves and add some bacon and a flaky puff pastry dough, just so we do not become overly health consensus. After all, you are entitled to flirt with some forbidden foods in moderation. This Brunch Bake can be made the night before, and will surely please any crowd.
