Herman, MO.

 

Last weekend we had an amazing trip to Hermann, MO. We are all posers can't you tell? No one was camera shy within this group of lovey ladies. Lots of legs and boots, happen.

 

We frequented numerous wineries and sampled just about all of the local wine flare. Adam Punchta Winery, has always been on of our favorites.

 

Festive decorations were spread throughout all of Hermann, it was absolutely gorgeous.

 

The picture above was taken in front of our guesthouse, The Stone Giraffe. It was an incredible establishment; A modern, yet classy venue that showcased scenic views over looking a vast arrays of bluffs. I highly recommend.

 

OakGlenn is absolutely phenomenal! We adored this picturesque venue, with live entertainment. It was a great time had by all. Now I must sign off, as I am still in the recovery process.

In 15 More Days....The Hunger Games

In exactly 15 more days a fury of relentless fans will be unleashed into a superficial civilization known as Panam. I am one of those fans! 

For the last two weeks I have been captivated by the unsuspecting magnetic pull that these books posses. To the point of an unethical behavior; Calling my mother-inlaw to watch the kiddo so I could read, Staying up all hours of the night to read, Lose of appetite just to read, Avoiding the computer to read, Basically with drawing myself from society so I COULD READ! I couldn't help myself, I was mesmerized by each book, everywhere I went I had to have "The Games" with me, just incase I might get an opportunity to skim through just afew pages. So riveting and suspenseful, I was easily pulled into "Their World".

Thus I have now finished the entire series and inorder for me to accept full closure from the mind blowing spell these books have placed upon me. This is my attempt to rid myself from their infectious pull, by writing about to all of you. Thank you for letting vent, the therapy session is now concluded! Now go buy yourself a copy of "The Hunger Games" so that you too can fully compherend exactly what kind of influence these books can have.

Dominica & Barbados

Dominica, welcome to the land of lush rainforest's and romantic waterfalls!

We visited Morne Trois Piton National Park (No clue how to say that correctly?), there we were able to take a short walk into the rainforest's. Eventually arriving at the beautiful Emerald Pool.

We were told that several movies were shot at this location, as the waters are a brilliant color of emerald green.

Yet be prepared, the waters are alittle chilly!

The winding drive too and from the port was adventurous ( I would not recommend over consuming in rum beverages the evening prior, the outcome will not be pleasant). Yet it was really fascinating to see these little fruits popping up every where. Who knew that this is how Pineapples grow?

Gorgeous mountainous landscapes.

Onto Barbados, the child hood home of Rihanna and exclusive site of Sandy Lane where Tiger Woods and Elin Nordegren were wed (costing $6,000 a night).

Yet it is also home to Harrison's Cave! This massive cave system features 50 foot high caverns, rushing streams, glassy pools and a thunderous 40 foot waterfall that cascades into an emerald lake. Amazing right?

And one of the highly recommended excursions of the group was swimming with the sea turtles.

One of the most exciting and memorable tours of Barbados. A unique experience that could never be duplicated. A real must see.

Well that sums up our fantastic Caribbean Cruise. We all had a wonderful time and hope to do it again real soon.

Tortola and Antigua.....

Tortola is home to the most bareboat sailing charters in the entire world. Constant trade winds along the Sir Francis Drake Channel make for ideal conditions, so yachting around Tortola is a must. Depending on your nautical knowledge, you can either sail the seas yourself or hire a crew.

Virgin Gorda Baths are an astonishing site. Massive volcanic boulders, some the size of homes, form intimate pools, beaches and grottos (cave-like) that comprise Virgin Gorda's amazing Baths. The winding trails through the sloping, time-smoothed rocks reveal these secluded slices of paradise.

We however did not do any of those things( But people in our group did and really enjoyed them)! Instead HH and I strolled around the town checking out the local flare.

Hence, the gentleman that I am standing with below. Doesn't he look thrilled to be posing with me?

Now onto the beautiful beaches of Antigua! With 365 pristine white sand beaches, Antigua boasts a beach for every day of the year. The tranquil turquoise waters were almost surreal in form. We visited Church Hill Beach, it was absolutely gorgeous.

 

Another exceptional aspect of the island was again its local shopping district. I was fortunate enough to stumble upon many treasures on this island. One of my exquisite finds was in a quaint little market place were there was a local artist that caught my eye. She painted extraordinary scenes of the island on conch shells. Baby D loves these types of shells as he thoroughly enjoys listen to the ocean within them. Ranging from $20 to $30 dollars, this proved to be an amazing deal.

Another spectacular find was Goldsmitty! If you are boarder line obsessed with exclusive handmade jewelry, this is your cup of tea. I absolutely could not get enough of there remarkable designs and of coarse the 4 C's. These pieces were incredible, and guess what? Welcome To The Best Of St. Thomas....

I realize that this is the time of year that most of you are aching to head down south to lavish in there warm weather. So for my next few posts, I will be describing some of the "Hot Spots", that I felt were a must of the islands. And perhaps giving you some background information on each of the destinations, just in case you may to want to frequent there. Shall we begin?

St. Thomas is considered part the United States Virgin Islands (USVI); The three main USVI are St. Thomas, St. Croix, and St. John. St. Thomas is located in the Eastern Caribbean, just east of Puerto Rico. It is 13 miles long by 4 miles wide, equivalent to the size of Manhattan. The temperature is a fantastic 73 - 89 degrees year round.

Alright, enough of the history lesson! A must see in Saint Thomas is the fabulous Magens Bay. It is considered one of the top 10 beaches in all of the world to visit. It was a 30 minute ride away from the port and would cost you $4.00 per person for admission (unless perhaps you are of considerable wealth and can cruise your yacht up to the shore line).

The waters were brilliant! You could see all the way to the bottom sands, infact that is were HH found his lava rock. If you are a seashell extraordinaire as I am, there was a vast aray shells that were available to the public just laying on the beach. I must confess I have an obsession, each time I visit a magnificent beach, I collect some shells, and then when I return to the states, I find a fancy see through jar put my treasures in it and label it accordingly. A great way to remember and reminisce.

If you prefer to stimulate the economy, as do I. The shopping district is one of pure excellence! The majority of the islands in the Caribbean are "Duty Free", which basically means, you exempt from paying those pesky taxes on merchandise. So ladies for this reason alone, you may want to check out the jewelry stores. You can find some amazing deals, some of the jewelers will have the actual stone lad out for you in the display case, along with the pictures of the mines it was found in (deal with those dealers). Tanzanite, is widely available and can be found to suit any price range.

One of my favorite finds was Cariloha! Where everything is made from Bamboo, no lie! And believe it or not, they turn "hard bamboo into ultra-soft apparel". Well in our case, bedding! Softer then 1,000 thread count Egyptian cotton, go ahead close your eyes and picture yourself nestled into pure bliss.  Free shipping, and will arrive at your home in less then a week. Needless to say, I had surreal night of slumber last night, AMAZING.

Lets just say, "Once you go Bamboo, you never go back!"

If you have a birthday to celebrate, you may want to visit the legendary Senor Frogs. At this establishment, they will torment the birthday goer with an assortment of activities such as; Giving them a cake, setting napkin on fire on the cake, blowing out the napkin, respectively thrusting the cake in the recipients face, and them graciously demanding that they take a shot of tequila. In my family we consider this to be fun, yet each to their own.

 

Well, I hope you found this post to be informative and edgy. And not the alternative of dull and disturbing. But overall, this is the second time that I have frequented St. Thomas and would recommend it to anyone.

Signing In...

Where in the world have I been? Well, HH and I have taken an extended holiday.

That means only the pure bliss of warm temperatures, beautiful beaches, lush rainforest's and an assortment of tiki bars.

Cruising around the Caribbean and visiting some fantastic islands; St. Thomas, Tortola, Antigua, Dominica, and Barbados.

Yet, best part of all was that we were able to enjoy it with our family.

Where In The World Is Farming Fabulously?

Holy Moly, it feels like I haven't been online in forever! We decided to take a last minute trip up the Nortwoods this past Thursday, in order to properly glorify the Green Bay Packers in their return to Lambeau Field. The whole state is in a massive salute to the renowned football team, my peeps flourished in flaunting our sacred colors within the streets (I felt as though we could have easily been at a JD convention). Needless to say I was bursting with pride. Speaking of pride, Baby D recently found is nose (Baby D's pronunciation: noooo-s ). I am having a hard time distinguishing between if I should consider it cute for a 17 month old to do or simply disturbing? Yet after much deliberation, I have concluded Baby D is just keep'n it real.

Our NYE/NY's Plans Were As Follows...

It is a tradition for my family every New Years eve to find a culinary hot-spot to drink and be merry. Yet each year we keep returning to what has seems to have become our absolute favorite dinning experience. It is a venue located in Wisconsin, at the intersection of 90-94 Hwy. A quaint town called Tomah, houses a lovely bistro/pub that will exceed your culinary expectations. Burnstads is without a doubt a marvelous place to thoroughly enjoy an array of lavish flare.

Just look at these stunning ladies and gentleman all dressed in there finest for an evening of sheer bliss. Infact, I myself did something I have never done this New Years Eve. Something that was out of my comfort zone, something that perhaps took me two days prior to work up the nerve to actually do. But I have to say, I am very glad I did it. You see, I was blessed with microscopic eye lashes, having to usually put on at least 3 layers of mascara in order for anyone to even notice my lashes. Thus having discovered that "Fake Eye Lashes" are so for me. I *heart* long, voluptuous, lashes, from this day forward.

Please excuse my lash tangent, but I really do have a new unconditional lust for them. Ok, Ok, enough about the lashes! Do those dishes look fabulous or what?

Now New Years Day, the Rose Bowl game was taking place. The Wisconsin Badgers vs. TCU Horned Frogs (for real). Unfortunately Baby D was under the weather so he did not partake in some of the festivities as originally planned, but cousin Marmell did.

Alas, the outcome of the game was quite unpleasant! It was a day of loss in Badger country. But we can always manage to still have an exceptional time. Rock On Bucky Badger!

While In The Tundra We......

The first few days that we were in Wisconsin they had loads, I mean loads of snow! In fact, if Baby D were to stand up the white powder would come up to his wee little shoulders.

So we had to take advantage of all of the snow by doing some sledding. Now Baby D has never before seen that much snow, let alone could he comprehend actually having a use for it. That was until we introduced to him a curvy board like structure that glides easily across it.

Once he understood the concept of sledding, it was hard to keep him off the slopes. The faster we went, the harder he would giggle, and the harder he would giggle the more we would attempt to increase our 1.3 MPH speed.

Needless to say, we are secretly hoping Mid-Mo will be blessed with at least a powdering of a 2" snow one evening so we could once again have a chance to experience our knew guilty little pleasure.

Perhaps we will get lucky next week, so until then the slide will be tucked away into the garage for safe keeping.
